To upgrade to the Professional Edition, simply select "Upgrade Bull's-Eye Broker" from the Tools menu. 5. Are software upgrades free? Unfortunately not. If your registration number still does not work please contact support@archeranalysis.com 8. Why is my point & figure chart blank? There are a number of reasons why your point & figure chart may be blank:
9. Do the point & figure charts use high/low data or just the closing price? In version 3.5 and later, Bull's-Eye Broker has an option to allow you to select whether you want to use High/Low data or Closing price only. See the Chart Options screen for more information. In version 3 or less, Bull's-Eye Broker uses whatever data you provide. If you only provide closing price data, Bull's-Eye Broker will create a closing price chart. If you provide high/low data, Bull's-Eye Broker will create a high/low chart. If you provide both closing price data and high/low data, Bull's-Eye Broker will use the high/low data. 10. Can the software read intraday data? Bull's-Eye Broker only supports intraday data in certain formats. Metastock and linked text file data is supported. For more information consult the Bull's-Eye Broker help file. 11. Can Bull's-Eye Broker plot point & figure charts for mutual funds, indices, commodities and futures markets? Yes, Bull's-Eye Broker can chart anything you like, but the catch is that you must provide a data source. For more information see the Data Options forum. 12. Does Bull's-Eye Broker come with a printed manual? No. This is one way we are able to keep our prices low. We provide a context sensitive on-line help system. This can be accessed anywhere in the program by simply pressing F1. 13. What do the numbers on the charts mean? The numbers on the charts stand for the months of the year. They can be useful points of reference. 14. I had to format my hard disk and consequently lost Bull's-Eye Broker. How do I restore the software? You should download the software again from our download page. Once you have done this and installed the software you will need to find your registration number and enter it into the "Purchase Bull's-Eye Broker" screen available from the Tools menu. If you have lost your registration number please email support@archeranalysis.com 15. I have just updated my version of Bull's-Eye Broker and now I'm getting an error 339 when Bull's-Eye Broker loads up. How do I fix this error? Please close Bull's-Eye Broker and follow these steps:
16. I sometimes get an "Assertion Failure" error when I exit Bull's-Eye Broker. What is the problem? This is currently an unresolved issue with Bull's-Eye Broker. You should be aware that this error does not cause any harm to Bull's-Eye Broker or your system. If you get this error you should simply click the Ignore button. 17. What do the characters appended to my chart's Name and/or Code mean? Nothing. It is simply an arbitrary identifier. When Bull's-Eye Broker detects duplicate Name or Code values when linking to your Metastock data it will rename these values to ensure that they are unique across all charts in Bull's-Eye Broker. 18. The latest reversal in my chart is not registering with Bull's-Eye Broker. What is the problem? This problem will sometimes occur when you are using high and low data to create your charts. The important thing to remember here is that a point & figure chart created with high and low data can only move in one direction per day. For example, if a stock is rising and today's high is higher than the previous high, an X or series of X's are placed in the current column. As a result of this movement the low price for that day is ignored. This can be confusing especially if the stock drops considerably (during the day) and the closing price is well below the day's high. When charting using high and low data the closing price is not used. 1. Can I install both version 3.5 (or 3.0) and version 4.0 on the same computer? Yes you can. When you install version 4.0 make sure you select "Yes" to the question about installing version 4.0 separately to version 3.5. 2. How do I upgrade to version 4.0? You should firstly install version 4.0. If possible you should in on the same computer as your old version. You should then select "Purchase Bull's-Eye Broker" from the Tools menu and follow the on-screen instructions. If you have not installed version 4.0 on the same computer as your old version, Bull's-Eye Broker will not detect that you are eligible for an upgrade and you will be taken to the full price order form page. If you are a registered user please email sales@archeranalysis.com and we will send you a link to the appropriate order form. Please indicate what edition you would like to upgrade to. 3. I am now using version 4.0. Should I uninstall my old version? If you selected to install version 4.0 separately to your old version (during the version 4.0 install) and you no longer want your old version on your computer you can uninstall it. If you selected to install version 4.0 over the top of your old version you do not need to uninstall version 3. In fact, uninstalling version 3 will prevent version 3.5 from working. 4. Occasionally I can't zoom the charts or draw trend lines on them. What is the problem? This behaviour may occur from time to time if you are running low on memory. There are a number of possible solutions to this problem:
5. How can I speed up the Pattern Recognition calculation? There are a number of ways that the performance of the pattern recognizer can be improved:
6. Why are my TC2000 charts showing limited history, or aren't even displaying at all? The most likely cause of this is that your TC2000 CD is not in your CD-ROM dirve. There are 2 ways you can overcome this:
7. Why isn't the Watchlist I just created in TC2000 showing as a portfolio in Bull's-Eye Broker? If you create a watchlist in TC2000 and then try to locate it in Bull's-Eye Broker (without closing TC2000) you will not be able to find the new portfolio in Bull's-Eye Broker. There is a refresh issue in TC2000 preventing any new portfolios from showing up in Bull's-Eye Broker. After adding a watchlist in TC2000 you should close TC2000 and Bull's-Eye Broker (if it is also open) and then restart Bull's-Eye Broker.
